Hello~
I haven't blogged a single thing since my last blog on ScrapDish's Jan Bits & Bytes, so now here I am~
As you have guessed it, it's my plug for my SD's Feb Bits & Bytes, for which I contributed these 2 packs for sales:

While I was busy with making Feb's B&B, and preparing for the Chinese New Year festivities at the same time (1st day of the CNY was 3 Feb this year), I was designing another kit, full of hearts, planning for it to debut together with the Feb B&B... but of course it didn't.

I had to be put it aside because I couldn't handle so many things at once, and on top of that, the kids needed help with their assignments to be completed before the CNY holidays! So in the end, this kit was only packaged and put in the store right on Valentines' Day itself. I'd like to think that I made it just in time ;)

However... knowing me, I am only blogging about it today lol!

This kit was supposed to be for Valentine's Day, but really, I think it is good for any other events too. For me, I love adding hearts to my layouts because 1) heart shape is my girls' and my favourite shape (after circles), and 2) I'd be making layouts of someone or something I love, so hearts aren't too out of place! So one can never have too many heart-shaped embellishments and heart-patterned papers ;)

Refugee Awareness Blog Train

"Refugee Week is about raising people's awareness of who a refugee is, about breaking the prejudice barrier and removing the negative image that refugees have."

For this blog train organised by Angela , she has not designated the colour combination because as she explained, the refugees come from very different backgrounds, so we can be as diverse in our designs as possible. After thinking about what colours to use for the longest time, I picked my colours from the Refugee Week logo.

In my search for some inspiration for my contribution both on the refugee week site and the www, I came across this quote by Maya Angelou, which I thought goes well with the theme for this blog train.

CHD Awareness Blog Train

When Angela asked me if I would join the blog train for awareness of the CHD, I read up and learned a bit more about this defect. I'm glad that children with this defect have the option of medical treatments that could help them heal, but it is hard for the parents or guardians who have to see their little ones undergo surgeries.

I'm fortunate that there hasn't been such cases in my family nor with my friends, but I have gone through the heartache of seeing my eldest gone through surgery just after his first birthday, in which he didn't know what was going on and all he experienced was pain and discomfort. After that surgery, he came to dislike stickers and things sticking on him even till now that he's 10, due to the tapes used to hold down the tubes on him and such.

This is my contribution to the CHD blog train, with the papers showing a normal ECG reading, which is my wish for all those with CHD, and to their parents and guardians too.
(Please note that the lines of the ECG were drawn by me using the mouse, so do excuse the unevenness)

What a Great Idea!

Finding a colour combination I like has always been a task. I have so many 'unfinished kits' for those palettes I picked myself, and found that somehow it's much harder and took me a longer time to complete such kits...

So it happened that I was stumped again last month with the colours I have on hand. After trying to finish up a kit without much success, I saw the colours for the 'Designer's Challenge' in 'The Enabler' (DigiscrapAddicts' newsletter) while sorting through my download folder.

I started out planning an element pack when I felt the palette calling for some cute bears, but it expanded into a full kit in the end! So there you go, introducing to you my 'Great Idea!', a kit geared towards the boys! :)

I'm so looking forward to catching the latest sequel this weekend with DH and DS, have you seen it?
DS enjoyed all the HP movie series so far, but his 2 little sisters do not appreciate the HP kind of magic at all. They might, when they're older, but for the time being, they will go and watch cute animations with their grandaunt this weekend while we go to the HP movie ;)

Talking about Harry Potter, {Enchanting Moments} is great for scrapping related events and photos with its colours and theme!

Who'd have thought my previous post's 'back in a few days' became a few weeks...
Besides being tied up with kids and their school stuff, preparation for the Chinese New Year such as house cleaning and shopping for new year goodies have been keeping me busy too ;)

Anyway, the first day of Chinese New Year for this year falls on 26 Jan, which is next Monday, and I'm more or less prepared apart from shopping for some new clothes for myself... which I'll get to it this weekend (last minute shopping again :P)
Other than that, I've got a Lunar New Year kit up to go with all the New Year festivities too! This is a kit revamped from a RAK I gave out some time back at RAKScraps with auspicious new year colours, and you can find it at my Scrapdish store:Then, there's this set of uppercase alphas with the same gold frosted plaque which I wanted to add to the kit, but on second thought am giving it away instead! I spotted a piece of scrap paper full of cute little scribbles on my desk the other day, and they gave me an idea for a whole bunch of felties... which expanded into this kit!I think DD#2 drew all or did DD#1 added some too because they 'wouldn't' identify the felties, and now I don't even know where that piece of paper is! :P

Anyway, not all felties made it into the kit, so I'll be giving them out here!
Just grab these journaling tags first if you like cute stuff. I'll package the remaining few pieces and post them when I get some time again :)

Perhaps Nov isn't a good time for ice cream

I've got a store!

I've decided to set up a store for my digi kits and stuff at Scrapdish!
This is probably not a good time to start with DS's school exams starting soon and my tight work deadlines, but the owners and mod at Scrapdish are patient and kind, and the designers there are friendly, so I think this stint will be fun more than stress... hopefully so :)
It's going to be a learning experience, wish me luck!

7 Facts about myself :)

7 random/ weird facts about me... (hope some are considered weird enough LOL)
1. I work from home, and every time someone who learned of this for the first time thinks I'm (1) self-employed {I'm not} and (2) an accountant (again I'm not)
2. I only eat canned peaches and I LOVE them, but I don't like peach flavoured food/ drinks.
3. I took way too many photos of my kids. Just today, I took more than 10 shots of my youngest with her slice of pizza, all in the same pose!
4. I am 1.68m, not very tall, but is the tallest among all my girl friends and relatives.
5. I was an 'avid' nail biter but since college, I only chew on my nails when I'm thinking hard, and I immediately trim the uneven parts off after that.
6. I used to have as many as 23 Blythe dolls (Neos, replica by Takara) back in my hey day. I didn't really plan to 'collect' them, but they somehow accumulated and since 2006 most of them have been 'adopted'.
7. I have started paper scrapbooking again last month, mainly to clear up my scrapbook stash and printed photos. I have sb papers older than my eldest who's coming to 9 years old and they are not even yellowed! I guess that's why scrapping acid & lignin free is very important lol!
BTW, most of the brads with the painted tops bought few years ago have rusted at the prongs, and aluminum eyelets are the best, I've discovered.

Now comes the hardest part... I don't know who to tag (GASP!) So I'm breaking the rules by saying if you happened to drop by my blog and read this post and would like to be tagged, please leave a comment and let me tag you ;) Thanks!

Since I logged into Blogger to post a little comment today, I thought I might as well pop in to update... and what do you know... the last time I post anything in this blog was way back in Feb!! Where did the 4 months go???

I've been really tied up these few months, or should I say since this year. This year just seems not a good year for me so far, but I'm trying to focus on counting my blessings and be optimistic. Come to think of it, those 'unhappy stuff' were really no big deal and I mustn't let myself be discouraged. I have better things to do, like catching up on my scrapbooking, spending more quality time with my family, my CT assignments too...

Talking about CT, I've not been fulfilling my CT obligations diligently :(
Now the designers I've worked/ am working with are all wonderful ladies so I must not let them down...

I've been asked a few times before what are/ were the CTs I belonged to, so I'll list it here in order of the date I joined:

I'm still on some of the CTs because otherwise I won't even have the motivation to scrap anything. My target earlier this year was 12 LOs per month! I average out about less than 6 LOs per month so far and if without any CT obligations, it could have been zero LO :(
I'm actually those kind of people who need deadlines and challenges to get things done (^o^)> heh heh...

Jan had been such a busy month for me. I haven't scrapped any layouts at all, but I made a few kits (obligations?! lol!!!)

I started creating this kit for my ad challenge at RAKs with a name in mind: 'Enough of Fall' (^^')>
I was thinking that this probably will be the last 'fallish coloured' kit I'll be making this year... But when it's finished, the whole thing simply reminded me of 'Pistachio Nuts' with its colour scheme!
Btw, I'm not a nut lover, prefer 'nutless' chocs anyday, but if I have to, I stick to only 2 kinds of nuts: Pistachio & Macademia ;)

After the last challenge's boyish and girlish kits, I felt that I should be making a sort of 'grown-up' kit. Love this colour scheme inspired by the Ikea catalog I've received in the mail last month and will be adding more to this kit *if I can find time*.

First I want to say a big 'thank you' to all the readers who have been reading my blog entries!

I started blogging on 8 April 2005 and have planned on blogging my personal life plus keeping track of whatever I'm doing in the digi-scrapping world. However I have to admit I haven't been doing that 'diligently' as I couldn't even keep up with my life let alone blog about it...

Yes, I’m one bad blogger. (-_-')

I've thought of deleting this blog altogether, but didn't have the heart to do so (afterall, it has been my little blog for the past 4 months or so). So after some consideration, I've decided to keep this blog as a gallery of the digital scrapbooking stuff I've ever created with info on them or links to them. As for entries of my personal life, I'll keep them in my layouts or offline diaries (^-^')>

If you have scrapped with my stuff and posted them in online galleries, please do post a link in the comment to the preview here, I'd love to go and take a look at your layouts and leave praises (^o^)/
